Eugeny Viacheslavovich Komrakov was born in 1955 in Leningrad. After graduating from Admiral Makarov's Higher Naval School in 1978 he served in the Baltic Navy in the capacity of captain's assistant in the beginning and as a long voyage captain later on. He was one of TRANSAS founders, the company that is today recognized as the leader on transport navigational systems market, and was at the head of the company for more than 10 years. From the beginning of year 2003 he has been heading one of the the company's most prospective activities Kronshtadt Ltd. that was created in order to promote science intensive technologies on defense market. Komrakov regularly takes part in various international conferences concerned with navigation safty. He is an author of more than 40 articles and monographs published in Russia and abroad. In year 2002 he received a Doctor's degree from International Transport Academy.
